So I’m stepping back into the world of blogging.
Over the past couple of years, I would often remind myself, “I should blog”. But each time, I’d put pressure on myself to blog about meaningful topics that contributed to the industry I’m in – hence, the three PR-related posts dating back to 2011 and then complete silence… until now.
Thankfully, my blogging philosophy has shifted.
Once upon a time, Mindy Kaling (of “The Office” and now “The Mindy Project”) used to have a blog called Things I’ve Bought that I Love where she’d wax poetic about fun and frivolous purchases. It’s too bad her blog is now defunct because I used to love reading it and found it endlessly entertaining.
Her blog is pretty much the inspiration for the rebranding of mine. Sometimes being frivolous isn’t a bad thing. It’s an escape.
I like shopping. I like exploring. I like crafting. I like (pretending I have) style. And most recently, I’ve opened myself up to a whole new world of health and fitness.
I used these various interests – aka my JOIES DE VIVRES – to inspire the topics I want to write about.
I’m not claiming expertise in any of these areas. In fact, I’m probably an amateur when it comes to most of these topics – all I know is that I’m passionate about them and that they’re sources of happiness in my life. So come along with me as I learn and stumble along.
Join me, won’t you?
