Beauty Haul // NARS, Covergirl, L’Oreal

I recently picked up a few beauty products I’ve been meaning to try out for a while. I’ve heard several beauty girls rave about these products so I wanted to try them out for myself!

From top left (clockwise):

NARS blush in Sin ($32 at Sephora/Murale) // NARS blushes are absolute make-up splurges for me. They’re so soft, luxurious and finely milled… I treat myself on the rare occasion. As a result, I already own a couple of shades but I thought Sin was just so beautiful and the perfect addition to my small collection of NARS blushes. I’m a sucker for berry (on both the cheeks and lips!) and this one has subtle golden shimmer underneath a beautiful plum colour. Even though berry is more popular in the fall, I think this particular blush is suitable pretty much year-round.

NARS lip gloss in Super Orgasm ($29 at Sephora/Murale) // I was torn between this shade and Orgasm, which was a peachy shade, as opposed to a pink. The colour is beautiful but a little on the sheer side. I would probably wear this on top of a lip colour, rather than on its own. It goes on your lips like a dream but I’m not 100% sure if it’s worth the steep price tag. There are tons of great lip glosses you can pick up at the drugstore for a fraction of the price.

L’Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stain in (L to R) Coral Tattoo, Pink Resistance, Infinite Fuchsia (~$12 at drugstores) // These were on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart last week so I picked up a few colours that I thought would be good for spring and summer. I’ve heard these are great drugstore dupes of the very popular YSL Glossy Stain so I thought I’d given them a try. Since I haven’t tried the YSL version yet, I have no point of comparison. I love the packaging and the applicator but I’m not completely sold on the formula. While the colour payoff is great and I love how buildable it is, the stain was a bit too water-y for my liking. Maybe it’s just a different texture that I’ll need to get used to.

Covergirl Eye Enhancer Shadow in Champagne (~$6 at drugstores) // One of my all-time favourite (and in my opinion, versatile) eyeshadows is Stila’s Kitten. Right now, I only own it as a part of a palette. Rather than dishing out $23 for single eyeshadow, I opted for this drugstore dupe of Kitten instead. You can use this shimmering Covergirl shadow all over your eyelids, apply it just in the inner corners awaken your eyes, or even use it as a highlighter. This colour would look great on just about anyone.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think?
